just to mention something about factions armours
just wondering what other people think of this. the fow armour is alot of money and i know that but people who have this armour think there carnt be better armours in factions because its unfair. but those people have to look at it in another way of that armour is a bonus and its up to you if you get it. who else agrees with what im saying i ask people with fow armour and they just reply with its not fair. if you dont i would like a good reason why.

Uh, higher armor levels would be unbalancing for any type of armor, expensive or cheap. They're not going to do that. I guarantee it. Why? The max character level isn't going up, so why would armor levels?

true but then there has to be somethign you can gain from factions i mean yes there is a new campaign but i carnt go through that if im not working for something like working for better armours, weapons and more. but everyone is saying weapons just have differnt mods. in my view not really much to work for if all this is true

From what I have heard FoW will still be 'the' armor, as in the most sought after. it has nothing to do with armor level or the protection it offers, it's just more of a status thing.

New weapons, skills, enemies, play areas.... who cares if you don't get some superbuffed armor? Not like you need it, armor is balanced enough as is... I don't think they'll ruin the armor balance in c2, sorry.

Nope it wont happen as it would unbalance the game. Why make people work so hard for stuff only to make it worthless when chapter 2 is out. It wont happen.

It will just look different and be newer. So EVERYONE will want it...period. Look what happened when people discovered GREENS (original SF/GP), people were buying them up left and right for huge money, even though some were worth little to nothing. Then came the icy dragon swords, everyone wanted those too. Then came the new UW greens.
Basically people want wnat is new, or to look cool. Hell I don't look at armor, don't look at weapons etc. I play the game.
I thought all the UW armor was ugly anyways, at least for the 4 builds I play. So I am hoping that the new stuff looks a little better. And I am sure that when it does finally come out it will be plenty expensive, probably even moreso. If it involves both saphires and rubies which are currently trading at 6K per, that is roughly where Fissure armor was until the prices went crazy. You can actually get fissure armor now as cheap as you ever could as peopl anticipoate the new release.
New doesn't always mean better. But to some people it does.
As far as "better" it surely will not be more protective. Afterall Drokners, the normal 15K armor and Fissure armor ALL provide the same amount of protection. Neither is "better" than the othe, it is just a different look.

I am positive (of course nothing confirmed) that there will be high level armor for at a minimum the ritualist and assasin in Factions. Why? Because as we have been told, you can play factions as a separate game completely from prophecies.
So there are situations in which characters would not be able to get fissure armor at all. Of course they could go the route and say that they just won't get any, but I don't think they will do that.
I don't think the actual AL level will go up, but there will be highend armor available.

Or maybe there will be another "ToA" like place in Cantha, that has the same statues where you can give offerings to the gods. In any case, high level armor is a given, though it will look different from the FoW sets.

A thought
Maybe I should have started a new thread for this concept but there are enough "what about armor" threads out there...
The potential is there for stand alone faction account holders to aquire Fow armor...all Anet has to do is put a portal to FOW somewhere in the new world...as long as the materials are still available new account holders will be able to aquire FOW armor...
something to think about, since Fow Armor is a status symbol and a great gold sync i think this idea might be something we will see at release or in an update not long after release...
only time will tell...

Offhand, I seem to remember a Canthan NPC in Tyria saying something to the effect that the Canthans have their own entrance into the Underworld.

That's funny. Do you think there will be new gods in this Canthan ToA besides Dwayna and Balthazar and all those squares?

I'm 100% sure there will be a FoW type armor for Factions. Because its not only an expansion, its a standalone game and those playing it standalone will want hi-lvl armor too.

I doubt it. Those gods seem to be universal throughout the world of GW. Though, those particular gods can have different influences in different lands.
For Example, Dwayna seems to be a popular god among Tyrians. Lyssia or Melandru could be a more popular god in Cantha.
Though there could be other 'forsaken' gods that we haven't seen yet. Like the gods of the Charr and White Mantle for example.

The gods of the whitemantle were the mursaat. Anet will keep the game balanced so fow wearers wont get upset, just you watch.

We dont need new armors or even a higher level cap or more skills, the way things are right now is perfect. My only problem is that the armors atm is quite unbalanced and its especially true for warriors.
Dragons/Plates in actuallity are quite useles other than vanity as they are the weakest and least beneficial.
Full knights and Ascalon sets are ditto cept having only 1 armor piece of it will benefit other armors while a full set doesn't do anything for you.
I have a feeling the sentinels will be next in line due to it being the only armor w/ penalty unless a req is met and in actually has no bonus for an armor. its highest def is somewhat an illusion, since most armor are comparable if not the same def level vs physical(100) and the only thing it has for advantage is the def vs elements. ALthough it looks quite good.
Anet needs to rebalance the armors really. Sentinel should have a +10armor vs physical if str is 13 or something like that. Ascalon and knights should only have their bonuses kept to themselves and not just by the piece. Maybe something more to buff the sets too.
As for dragon and plates, I dunno how they would be improved. Maybe add like +10 armor vs elements along w/ the +10armor vs physical to make them a very balanced armor while the others are specialized.
Glads for energy
berserk for extra hp
Knights/ascalon for extra dmg buffer
Dragon/plates for even armor ratio vs all
Legionnaire for stance warriors
Sentinel for extreme physical resistance and good element Def but w/ req
I think a well balanced armor selection would improve the game leaps and bounds and people will actually think of why they would choose a set.
Also making the armors look more aesthetically mixable is easily solved if the main armor components are dye-able. The undyeable regions of the armor shouldn't overpower the details of the dyeable parts. Maybe then you'll see more variety w/o looking like an oaf.

They said that Toa will be accessable to c2 only accounts as well as c1. With that said Zin and Rit will have new fow armor.
